How long does the procedure take?

From beginning to end you can expect it to be about 2 hours.  The procedure is split between two appointments that are 4 to 6 weeks apart to allow for healing and ink to fully settle. The initial procedure should take between 60 and 90 minutes and the second appointment should take between 30-60 minutes.

Does the application hurt?

We take every precaution necessary and available to ensure the micro-pigmentation is as comfortable as possible. A wide range of medical grade anesthetics is used for your comfort. Some clients find it a little uncomfortable whereas other clients report no discomfort at all. A combination of 2 anesthetics are used, first a topical numbing cream and then a local anesthetic is introduced on the microblading procedure has started. This is reapplied during the treatment for your comfort.

How do you choose the shape?

We choose the shape and style together.  At the beginning of the microblading procedure we will take measurements and discuss your preferences.  We will then draw in a shape for your new brows that I recommend and we work together to perfect this to suit your preference and measurements. As well as to check symmetry and position. You’re in the driver’s seat. I won’t begin Microblading until you give me the thumbs up.

How do you choose the color?

We choose a color together by applying small amounts of  different colored pigments to the skin near your brows and selecting the best match.  This is a custom blend to best match your skin tone, features and personal preference.

How long does the Microblading Result Last?

This varies from person to person and a color refresh is recommended on average from 12-18 months after your initial microblading procedure. Again, this is an art, not a science.

What will they look like immediately after the procedure?

Your brows may be a little swollen, red and sometimes a bit blanched.  This is all very normal.  They will be considerabley darker for the first week or so before they begin to fade out to a softer color.

Will they fade?

Your body’s skin changes over time and so will any semi-permanent makeup coloration implanted into the skin’s layers.  However, this natural fading process takes years and touch ups are easily done and recommended as your color fades over time.

How long is the recovery or healing time?

Many clients can walk right out the door ready to show off their new brows. Initially stronger in color, your new brows will soften to a natural looking and beautiful hue in 2-3 weeks. On average they fade about 50% to its lasting color.

Does it hurt afterwards?

The area can be a little tender for the first few hours after the numbing wears off and tender to the touch for a couple of days. Many clients refer to the level of discomfort to that of a minor sunburn or scratch.

Are there any side effects during or after the procedure?

During the procedure there may be some minor bleeding.  This will depend on the client. If a person is taking blood thinners on a daily basis then some slight bleeding may occur. Bruising is rare but if a person is on blood thinners then bruising may occur. There is usually some tenderness for a few days and the color is darker than most expect for the first 7-10 days. We recommend you stop any Advil, Ibuprofen, fish oils for 1 week prior to your appointment. Avoid alcohol consumption for 48 hours before appointment. Before stopping any medications please ask your PCP.

Will my Microbladed Eyebrows look fake?

No! When we implant semi-permanent makeup pigment into the skin it appears more natural looking than even topically applied  eyebrow pencils, gels waxes or shading. We

When will I see the final results?

A noticeable difference will be readily apparent immediately following the procedure.  You will see our final results after the healing process is fully completed in 2-3 weeks.

What type of pigments do you use?

Cosmetics and medical tattooing have proven to be safe. Many medical professionals who perform actual tattooing use the very same pigments. People have been placing color in their skins for centuries and through the years, a generally accepted list of color additives which are expected to perform well have proven to be safe. The FDA does not regulate the colors that are used in tattooing nor do they regulate colors used in cosmetics.  Our supplier’s ingredients for inorganic pigments are in iron oxides, distilled water, alcohol, glycerin and general colors that are found in all retail cosmetics. I proudly use LI Pigments which I believe to be amongst the finest in the industry. All ingredients can be found on the LI Pigment site.

What if I don’t like it?

Although the procedure is considered semi-permanent these types of procedures do have flexibility in changing color and shape to some extent. Colors will appear much darker immediately following the procedure but will soften and lighten during the healing process. The healing time is different for each individual and, remember, it takes time to adjust to a new look.
