Beauty tips for makeup, hair, brows, eyelashes and even internally. I’ll post occasional tips here and when I post a tutorial to IGTV I’ll make a note here. I also will share unconventional beauty tips such as what we do for our bodies through food, drink, supplements, meditation and such and how it directly effects our external. Did you know gut health has everything to do with effecting skin conditions like acne, perioral dermatitis and pretty much everything.
As a matter of fact, for the last 2 months I’ve been dealing with perioral dermatitis. This is a skin condition that looks like red bumps around the mouth and nostrils. It gets inflamed, super red, itchy and sore at times. I’m sure wearing masks frequently aggravates it, but Perioral dermatitis has so much to do with gut health. When we get an overgrowth of bacteria or yeast (SIBO or Candida) it can manifest outwardly and erupt into perioral dermatitis (PD). It’s quite the tricky thing to get rid of too. Yay.
There are foods to avoid and chemicals to avoid. Fluoride is known to aggravate PD (who knew?). Sulphates can bother it as well, although, that’s not shocking to me. Foods to avoid: dairy; sugar; too much grain; too much caffeine. There’s just so much to say about this and I’m still researching.
I’ve also been researching skin care to address this issue. Less is more in the case of PD. So as I continue to do my research on skin care and try different remedies with giving each one a good try, I’ll keep you posted on what works and what doesn’t.
